Halloweekend

Like most college freshmen I was ecstatic to have my first Halloween in college on a Friday and did not waste a second of my Halloweekend. On Friday I dressed up as Sandy fro Grease and used my MAC Russian Red lipstick with MAC Cherry lip liner. We started the day with Halloween themed cupcakes from Georgetown Cupcakes. That night we went trick-or-treating it Beacon Hill, got $3 burritos at Chipotle, and I later went to a couple of parties with a few friends from home.

I was clearly getting into character

On Saturday, we had plans to go out, but opted to stay in and watch movies instead (any offer I get to watch Hocus Pocus I will happily take up!). I was dressed up as Harry Styles and I must say that it was one of my favorite costumes ever.

Belated October Beauty Faves

With midterms over and finals just around the corner I have been overwhelmed with my first semester of college. In the past few weeks however, the amount of posts that I had pictures for began to stack up. First up is my incredibly belated Beauty Faves for October. In an effort to keep my skin moisturized I have been trying out different products.

First up is Pond’s Cold Cream Cleanser. Lately I have been putting it on right before bed and leaving it on throughout the night so that I wake up with soft and moisturized skin. This can also be used as makeup remover and a quick nightly cleanser although I have noticed that the longer I keep it on the better my skin looks and feels.

Since starting school, I have barely worn makeup with the exception of a few special occasions. I have realized that since leaving the south my skin has become noticeably paler which has forced me to revert back to using my first ever foundation which is noticeably paler than the one I used in the spring and summer. My first one was L’Oreal True Match in "Neutral" and although it gets the job done I do miss my Covergirl so I will hopefully be able to find a new shade that matches my current skin tone better.

I am currently in the process of trying to grow my hair out, and after hearing countless people talk about the benefits of coconut milk and oil I decided to try the Organix Nourishing Coconut Milk Shampoo. I have always been a massive fan of Organix products and was not disappointed. This being said, I would not use it on a regular washing basis, but would instead rotate it with my other shampoos and use it twice a month.

Next up is a classic item that I have used for years. Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula Swivel Stick has definitely proven to be my best asset in keeping my skin hydrated. It can be easily applied and gives my skin a dewy glow after I use it.

This sample of Clinique Repairwear Laser Focus Moisturizer instantly makes gives my skin a natural glow. Lately I have been blending this with my foundation and I have been very pleased with the results.

Clinique Moisture Surge was another sample and I have worn this both with makeup and without and since I have started using this, I can instantly tell the difference it makes.

Currently Obsessing Over... (October Edition)

Here is everything that has inspired me in October:

Kristen Stewart.

Back in my Twilight I thought Stewart's style was cool but a bit too edgy for taste. Surprisingly, I always loved her androgynous takes on outfits and years later I have come to love every aspect of her style! Here are a few of my favorite looks from her:

Layering necklaces.

I used to hate wearing necklaces simply because I thought they were too much with the two pairs of earrings and my class ring that I wore religiously. Since I have started to experiment more I have realized that as long as I keep my jewelry and outfit simple (which it normally is) layering necklaces should be fine and actually adds a fun element to my outfit.

Furry/Fuzzy Coats.

It may just be the cool New England weather getting to me (and a lot of window-shopping in Urban Outfitters) but I have fallen in love with the look of furry winter white coats that hit just at the hip or lower. They look so effortlessly cool with black skinny jeans and boots and incredibly warm!
